Now I also make this with some snipped BACON in it too but cut back on the veggie oil and you might need to increase the corn starch.

If your meat seems a bit dry while frying with the onions add a little bit of water... don't let it dry out and over brown the onions crystallized sugars.

Looks great! After all the Turkey, I had beef for dinner, too! This gal makes the best!

Thanks for the recipe but ...
Oops! got all the way to the bottom and notices that I wasn't supposed to be doing a "quality taste test" all of the way through ... like that's going to happen [chuckle].

My mouth will be watering all night. That recipe is so tempting. When I get some money, I will be going to get some beef from the butcher and whip up a big batch.

Problem with ROULADEN is that it does not lend it's self to being cut down to just two people... works best for 6 or more.

The thinly sliced beef can be done at home when it is still semi-frozen

I admit I live under a rock regarding many things. The Schwan deliveries are one. I really need to research them.

Ricky has these recipes filed away! We were wondering subbing the beef with venison? Pork?

Brooke, we may have to go this route tonight. We are going to be super busy through the 15th. Ricky said to tell you that the Shepherd's pie is easy to make ahead and freeze, except for the topping of course. That is if it is a favorite.

We make it in the large slow cookers, then freeze proportionate serving bags. Then prepare a favorite pasta or rice to go with. Beef stew is always good, you bet!

We used them when we were more urban. But, we have seen the trucks nearby!

Schwan's deliver Frozen food and ICE CREAM to your home so you don't have to go out shopping.

I have used pork but not the venison.... The venison is pretty lean but should work with no problems.
